*RESCHEDULED* Winter Wildlife Tracking Walk

Saturday, February 5, 2022 - Sunday, February 6, 2022
1:00 pm - 3:00 pm

Event Type

Acton Conservation Trust welcomes members and friends for a winter tracking walk led by Paul Wanta. We will walk through the trails of North Acton, including Nashoba Brook, Robbins Mill, Spring Hill and Camp Acton Conservation Lands. This area is the largest continuous parcel of protected land in Acton, comprising 400+ acres. This will be a slow walk of 1-2 miles. *As the long range weather forecast predicts only a small chance of snow between now and the event date, there is a good possibility that we will have to move the event to the snow date on February 5, 2022. No pets on this walk, thank you!

A tracker for over 25 years, Paul studied with John Stokes of The Tracking Project, based in Albuquerque, NM, and participated in The Tracking Project’s mentor program. Paul also studied with Paul Rezendes’ programs in tracking in Royalston, MA, including two years with Rezendes in his Tracking Apprenticeship Program for advanced studies in tracking. Paul was a tracker, teacher and naturalist for 8 years with The Farm School in Athol, leading youth classes in tracking and nature awareness. He also taught shelter building, tracking, fire making and other traditional skills to 10-13 year-olds.

Registration required.
